Humana's Enterprise Growth organization is excited to welcome a Lead Business Intelligence Analyst to our Growth Analytics & AI Team. If you have a strong background in SQL, Power BI, and Python/PySpark, this remote position provides a fantastic opportunity to tackle complex challenges using data from a variety of internal and external sources, driving insights for decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & SQL

  • Clean, manipulate, enrich, and analyze data across ADLS, SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Create curated, reusable datasets and semantic layers for enhanced analytics and self-service BI.

Power BI (Advanced)

  • Develop enterprise-level Power BI solutions utilizing DAX, Power Query M, dataflows, along with custom and stock visualizations.
  • Optimize performance of models; implement governance, security measures (RLS/OLS), and best practices for widespread adoption.

Python & PySpark

  • Design and manage ETL/ELT processes in Python (PySpark) for large-scale data cleaning, transformation, enrichment, and analysis.
  • Create applied NLP and GenAI features as a part of analytics products and workflows.

Data Orchestration

  • Orchestrate data pipelines using Databricks Workflows and Fabric Data Factory/Azure Data Factory (or similar).
  • Administer schedules, dependencies, monitoring, and alerts for dependable operations.

GenAI/LLM Development

  • Implement techniques such as prompt engineering & refinement, embeddings, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), and evaluation/guardrails for assured, measurable outcomes.

Power Platform

  • Develop or provide guidance on Power Apps (canvas/model-driven) to operationalize insights and enhance business workflows.
  • Utilize Power Automate to streamline and automate repetitive tasks across teams.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and executives to define segment-specific BI/AI strategies and roadmaps.
  • Document architecture, lineage, and operational guides; mentor team members on best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of data analysis experience or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience.
  • Extensive experience managing large and complex datasets within sizable organizations.
  • 5+ years of proficiency with SQL (ADLS, SQL Server, and Oracle) focusing on data cleaning, manipulation, enrichment, and analysis.
  • 5+ years of advanced Power BI experience encompassing DAX, Power Query M, dataflows, and visualizations.
  • Experience with PySpark via Databricks notebooks for ETL processes, cleaning, manipulation, enrichment, analysis, and NLP or GenAI coding.
  • Demonstrated capability to work with cross-functional teams, translating requirements between business, project management, and technical initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with senior and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Background in Data Orchestration (using Databricks Workflows, Fabric Data Factory/Azure Data Factory, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Power Apps in canvas/model-driven app development.
  • Experience with Power Automate to automate routine tasks.
  • Experience with Databricks & Synapse Analytics.

Additional Information

  • This role functions fully remotely but operates during CST/EST standard business hours.
  • Note: This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Compensation Range: The compensation range outlined reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. Pay may vary based on geographic location and individual skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.

This position is also eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
