Lead Cloud Architect

Our client is a forward-thinking organization seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Cloud Architect to spearhead our cloud infrastructure strategy. This is a fully remote, dynamic role where you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. You will lead a team of architects and engineers, driving innovation and ensuring our cloud environment meets the evolving needs of the business. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of our technology landscape.

Responsibilities: Design and architect cloud solutions across major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), focusing on scalability, reliability, security, and performance. Develop and maintain cloud architecture blueprints, standards, and best practices. Lead the migration of existing on-premises infrastructure and applications to the cloud. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloud services. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers and architects. Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs through effective resource management and cost-saving strategies. Implement and manage cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, data protection, and network security. Define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Monitor cloud performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and disaster recovery. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact and adoption. Effectively communicate architectural decisions, technical roadmaps, and project statuses to stakeholders at all levels. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and design. Extensive experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services. Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale cloud migrations. Deep understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing. Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security principles, and DevOps practices. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment. Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly preferred.
