Lead Cloud Solutions Architect - AWS

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to join their pioneering technology team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Nigeria. You will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge cloud solutions, primarily on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture best practices, infrastructure as code, and a passion for innovation in the IT and software space.

Key Responsibilities: Design and architect scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS to meet business requirements. Lead the migration of existing on-premises applications and infrastructure to the AWS cloud. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and operations teams on cloud best practices and services. Optimize cloud environments for performance, cost-efficiency, and security. Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions. Develop and implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies for cloud environments. Stay current with the latest AWS services and features, and evaluate their potential application to our client's needs. Contribute to the development of cloud governance policies and procedures. Mentor junior cloud engineers and architects, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the remote team. Automate deployment, configuration, and management processes using scripting and CI/CD tools. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions. Proven expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, and EKS. Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation. In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, security best practices, and compliance requirements in cloud environments. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
