About the role
Our client, a rapidly growing real estate developer, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Construction Project Manager to spearhead significant upcoming projects. This is a fully remote, senior role that offers the unique opportunity to manage diverse construction endeavors from inception to completion without the need for a fixed office location. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in managing large-scale construction projects, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments. You will be responsible for all phases of project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, contract negotiation, risk management, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are paramount, as is the ability to effectively manage distributed teams and stakeholders in a virtual setting.
Responsibilities: Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of multiple construction projects. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to financial and timeline constraints. Manage and coordinate all project activities, including site preparation, material procurement, and subcontractor management. Ensure strict compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout the construction process. Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Conduct regular site inspections (virtually or through delegation where necessary) and progress reviews. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and potential issues proactively. Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies. Lead and mentor project teams, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and excellence. Prepare comprehensive project reports for senior management and stakeholders. Implement and utilize project management software to track progress and manage documentation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a significant portion managing large-scale projects. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations. Experience with contract administration and negotiation. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project). Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to manage remote teams and diverse stakeholders effectively. Professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent are highly desirable. Experience with projects in the Nigerian construction sector is a significant advantage. This is a critical role for a seasoned construction leader ready to take on significant responsibility in a flexible, remote-first environment. The role is based in Lokoja, Kogi, NG , but is fully remote, allowing you to manage projects from anywhere in the world.
