About the role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and authoritative Lead Construction Site Manager to oversee significant building projects in Asaba, Delta, NG . This role demands exceptional leadership, meticulous planning, and hands-on site management capabilities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the construction site, managing all trades, subcontractors, and site personnel. Your duties will include developing and implementing detailed construction schedules, coordinating work activities, and ensuring strict adherence to blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
Safety is paramount; you will enforce all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety inspections and ensuring a safe working environment for everyone on site. You will also be responsible for quality control, inspecting work at various stages to ensure it meets the required standards. Managing site logistics, including material delivery, equipment utilization, and site security, will be crucial. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and local authorities, fostering positive working relationships and resolving any site-related issues promptly. Progress reporting, including daily logs, weekly reports, and photographic documentation, is a key responsibility. You will oversee the efficient use of resources, manage waste disposal, and maintain a clean and organized site. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent decision-making abilities, and the capacity to lead and motivate a diverse workforce. Experience with contract administration and claims management is also beneficial. This role requires a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding site environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a site management or supervisory role. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations. Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills. Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Experience with construction management software is a plus. Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
