We are seeking a seasoned content designer who is enthusiastic about conversational experiences and recognizes their critical role in enhancing customer experiences. As part of Humana's Consumer Digital team, you will take the lead in developing and crafting content for various conversational interfaces, including virtual assistants, chatbots, IVRs, and other self-service or conversational AI solutions. Your goal will be to ensure that individuals access the information they need to make informed choices and effectively manage their plans.

In collaboration with leaders across business, research, design, technology, marketing, legal, and compliance, you will ensure the delivery of accurate information in the most effective manner to various audiences, including consumers, members, providers, employers, and agents.

Responsibilities

As a content designer, you will:

  • Define, create and manage content for IVA and IVR experiences, including dialogues, prompts, error messages, and navigation, guaranteeing clarity, accessibility and alignment with user needs and business objectives.
  • Develop content strategies and collaborate on information architecture, terminology systems, content types, and voice and tone to align with audience and business goals, research insights, brand standards, legal and compliance requirements, accessibility best practices, and digital standards.
  • Partner with other UX experts on content organization, navigation, site maps, and information architecture.
  • Simplify complex concepts into clear, concise, and contextual content and taxonomies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inventories of content to identify gaps in quality, compliance, standards, and branding.
  • Continuously refine conversational content based on user feedback, analytics, and testing, adhering to accessibility, compliance and brand standards.
  • Maintain Humana's digital content guidelines, standards, tools, and processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years in content design, content strategy, and UX writing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating accessible, scalable, and user-centered conversational content that ensures clarity, engagement, and smooth interactions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail, proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, and able to balance strategic and tactical work.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder teams, including subject matter experts, content reviewers, editors, and legal and compliance professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulatory environment requiring legal and compliance oversight.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and agile technology such as Jira.

Remote Work Information

For effective Home or Hybrid Home/Office work, employees must have internet service meeting these criteria:

  • A minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; a wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is recommended.
  • Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections are permissible only with leadership approval.
  • Employees working from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive bi-weekly reimbursement for their internet expenses.
  • Humana will provide appropriate telephone equipment for Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees to meet business requirements.
  • Work from a designated area free of distractions to ensure member PHI / HIPAA information is protected.

Travel: Although this is a remote role, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be needed.

Salary Range

The following compensation range represents a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The actual pay may vary based on geographic location and will differ depending on demonstrated skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.

$78,400 - $107,800 per year

This role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
