About the role
As a highly skilled and motivated Lead Cyber Security Analyst at our client's rapidly expanding FinTech firm, you will have the opportunity to join their dedicated security operations center in a fully remote position. Your role will involve overseeing the identification, analysis, and response to cyber threats to ensure the robust protection of sensitive data and critical infrastructure. You will lead a team of security analysts, driving continuous improvement in threat detection capabilities, incident response procedures, and security monitoring tools. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the Threat Detection and Response (TDR) team, overseeing daily operations and incident management activities. - Develop, implement, and refine advanced threat detection strategies using SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other security technologies. - Conduct in-depth analysis of security alerts and incidents, determining scope, impact, and root cause. - Coordinate and execute incident response plans, ensuring timely and effective containment, eradication, and recovery. - Manage and mentor junior security analysts, providing technical guidance and professional development support. - Stay abreast of the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors, and update security measures accordingly. - Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for security policies, procedures, and playbooks. - Collaborate with IT infrastructure, development, and compliance teams to integrate security best practices across the organization. - Conduct security awareness training and promote a security-conscious culture. - Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing coordination. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Security Operations Center (SOC) capabilities and processes. - Prepare regular reports on security incidents, trends, and team performance for senior management.
Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior analyst role focused on threat detection and incident response. - In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), threat intelligence platforms, and security tools (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR). - Proven experience leading and managing technical teams. - Strong understanding of network security, endpoint security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and application security. - Expertise in malware analysis, forensic investigation, and reverse engineering is highly desirable. - Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, or CISM are strongly preferred. - Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team setting.
