About the role
The Opportunity
We are on the lookout for an experienced Lead Data and AI Solutions Architect to enhance our technical solutions and growth capabilities within Navy accounts. This role is designed for a senior technical leader who can integrate strategy, architecture, delivery, and business development. You will be instrumental in shaping innovative data, analytics, cloud, and AI/ML solutions, while also strengthening the technical foundations of our ongoing projects.
Your expertise will help us pursue larger engagements and elevate our delivery quality by building reusable offerings that are scalable across different accounts.
What You'll Work On
- Lead the design of comprehensive data, analytics, cloud, AI/ML, and MLOps solutions tailored to Navy clients.
- Translate client mission requirements and technical constraints into effective solution architectures.
- Define target-state architectures, integration patterns, data flows, platform recommendations, and implementation roadmaps.
- Review and enhance technical designs in current projects to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Create reusable technical standards, reference architectures, and best practices for data and AI engagements.
- Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams including data scientists, cloud engineers, and program staff.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks proactively.
- Support team efforts in capturing proposals and client expansion by defining technical solutions.
- Develop solution strategies, technical documents, staffing models, and implementation plans.
- Partner with account teams to discover new opportunities within existing Navy accounts.
- Transform client challenges into viable solution offerings.
- Create scalable solution offerings and architecture patterns for broader use.
- Engage in client discussions, technical workshops, and presentations as necessary.
- Drive improvements in architecture quality, design review processes, and delivery standards.
- Assist teams in evolving from point solutions to robust, enterprise-ready capabilities.
- Advise on data pipelines, cloud data platforms, and AI/ML deployment patterns.
- Help teams make informed decisions considering cost, timelines, security, and mission impact.
- Mentor technical staff and enhance the architecture and solutioning expertise across the team.
You Have
- A minimum of 8 years in data, analytics, cloud, AI/ML, or enterprise technology delivery.
- Experience in crafting data or analytics solutions in regulated environments, particularly federal or defense.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, Databricks, Python, SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, and MLOps methodologies.
- Experience in technical solutioning for proposals and client growth strategies.
- Strong background in reviewing technical designs and advising on architecture enhancements.
- Proficient knowledge of data and cloud architecture, data engineering, and AI/ML patterns.
- Ability to assess technical efforts, staffing needs, timelines, and implementation tradeoffs.
- Adept at navigating delivery, growth, and leadership contexts.
- Secret clearance is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Analytics.
Nice If You Have
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD), Navy, or federal civilian data and analytics programs.
- Knowledge of secure government cloud environments or DoD enterprise analytics ecosystems.
- Understanding of cybersecurity, RMF, NIST standards, and data governance.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Familiarity with APIs, data integration, lakehouse architectures, and data mesh concepts.
- Experience deploying GenAI applications and responsible AI practices.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to various audiences.
- A Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant cloud or architecture certifications (AWS, Azure, Databricks).
- Certifications in PMP, SAFe, Agile, Security+, or similar.
Clearance
Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is essential.
Compensation
At Booz Allen, we value your contributions and prioritize your well-being with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, retirement, and professional development resources. The projected salary range for this position is $99,000 to $225,000 annually, reflecting various factors such as location and candidate experience.
