Description
We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to spearhead our client's Salesforce data migration projects. This role involves utilizing IBM DataStage, SQL, and Python to deliver comprehensive end-to-end data migration solutions. You will be responsible for mapping source-to-target data, constructing ETL workflows, as well as cleansing and validating data throughout the process. Your expertise will guide the migration of data from Snowflake and on-premise systems into Salesforce. Additionally, you'll produce essential reconciliation reports and a detailed migration runbook while collaborating with Salesforce and data governance teams. A strong emphasis will be placed on creating repeatable, auditable processes and optimizing performance.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be prepared to work on a W2 basis. For our W2 consultants, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate of $63.00 to $73.00/hr W2
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed source-to-target mapping specifications including transformations, deduplication logic, and validation rules.
- Create and configure ETL workflows using IBM DataStage, SQL, and Python to streamline extraction, transformation, and loading processes into Salesforce.
- Conduct data profiling to identify quality issues and implement cleansing and standardization practices.
- Run mock migration tests, document error logs, analyze root causes, and institute remediation actions.
- Execute final production data loads while ensuring business sign-off on verifications.
- Generate reconciliation reports to validate accuracy and completeness post-migration.
- Write a detailed migration runbook with workflows, schedules, controls, rollback and support procedures.
- Implement quality checks, track data lineage, and maintain compliance with governance requirements.
- Collaborate with Salesforce teams to align object relationships, manage load order, and optimize performance during migrations.
- Enhance ETL processes and automate repetitive validation tasks for improved efficiency.
Experience Requirements
- Proficient in IBM DataStage for ETL/ELT processes.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in performance tuning for large datasets.
- Aptitude for data mapping, cleansing, deduplication, and validation techniques.
- Knowledge of data governance principles, quality checks, and compliance measures.
- Experience in optimizing ETL jobs and troubleshooting data load challenges.
- Python programming experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
- Experience with Snowflake is beneficial.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
