GCP and Data Engineering Specialist

Role Description

We are seeking a hands-on GCP Cloud Expert with strong Data Engineering and Analytics experience to design, build, and implement scalable cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate has deep practical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, strong SQL skills, and experience delivering end-to-end cloud solutions. This role requires a proactive professional with a strong technical foundation, positive attitude, and a passion for building reliable, high-quality data platforms on GCP.

Years of Experience Needed

• 8–10 years of overall IT experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in GCP Cloud Engineering and Data Engineering

Technical Skills

Core Skills

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Advanced, hands-on expertise
• Data Engineering – Designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines
• SQL – Strong proficiency in complex queries, performance tuning, and analytics
• Analytics & Reporting – Data modeling and analytical use cases

GCP Services & Tools

• BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub
• Dataflow, Dataproc
• Cloud Composer (Airflow)
• Cloud Functions, Cloud Run
• IAM, VPC, Cloud Monitoring & Logging

Certifications

• Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Engineer (Mandatory)
• Data Engineer certification is a strong plus

Cloud & Engineering Practices

• Cloud-native architecture and solution design
• CI/CD and DevOps practices (Cloud Build, Git, Terraform – preferred)
• Security, performance, and cost optimization on GCP

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement cloud-based data solutions on GCP
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines for analytics and reporting
• Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations and analytical datasets
• Implement end-to-end GCP cloud solutions, from ingestion to analytics consumption
• Collaborate with business, analytics, and platform teams to understand requirements
• Ensure best practices for security, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production workloads on GCP
• Follow cloud engineering best practices, standards, and governance guidelines
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team

Communication Skills

• Strong hands-on mindset with a problem-solving attitude
• Deep understanding of GCP concepts and real-world implementation experience
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of cloud solutions
