Lead Data Engineer with Architecture and MS Fabric/Azure Expertise

Join a prestigious global investment management organization known for its robust research and diverse strategies in fixed income and equities. This firm collaborates with institutional and mutual fund clients, focusing on security selection underpinned by proprietary analysis and teamwork.

Compensation: $80.00 to $100.00/hr. W2

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of a CRM-based data mart to enhance Power BI capabilities.
• Define and establish star schemas along with relational database frameworks.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes and data pipelines utilizing Microsoft Fabric and associated services.
• Set and maintain data architecture and engineering best practices across the organization.
• Engage with business stakeholders to translate their needs into effective technical solutions.
• Deliver hands-on coding while mentoring team members on contemporary data practices.
• Lay the foundation for an enterprise data warehouse with a clear roadmap for future developments.

Qualifications:

• Extensive familiarity with Microsoft data technologies, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse.
• Over 10 years of experience in star schema design and relational modeling.
• A minimum of 8 years working with ETL processes and production data pipelines.
• Experience integrating datasets for Power BI and applying data modeling practices aligned with visualization needs.
• Proven ability to lead projects independently from ideation to successful completion.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
• Knowledge of data lake and warehouse concepts, including SQL, Delta, and Parquet.
• Preferred experience with Databricks.
• Understanding of CRM systems and sales data structures is a plus.
• Familiarity with financial data modeling and understanding of securities, instruments, and portfolios is advantageous.
• Must be available to work remotely during East Coast business hours.
