We are seeking a Lead Designer to elevate our design quality and client experience, working directly with high-net-worth clients on complex outdoor environments.

Role Overview

The Lead Designer will be responsible for creating high-end, design-driven outdoor environments for luxury residential projects. This role leads the creative direction of projects, working directly with clients to develop visionary concepts that are both aspirational and grounded in real-world constraints.

This is a client-facing role that requires strong design thinking, communication skills, and the ability to guide projects from concept through final design approval.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Direction and Concept Development

• Lead design of complex outdoor environments, including pools, hardscapes, structures, and multi-level site planning
• Develop multiple layout options and guide clients through design decisions
• Elevate overall design quality across all projects

Client-Facing Leadership

• Lead client meetings and presentations
• Guide high-net-worth clients through spatial planning, design options, and material selections
• Build trust and confidence through expertise and clear communication

Design Ownership (Concept to Approval)

• Take projects from initial concept through design iterations to final approved layouts
• Collaborate with production team to translate concepts into drawings and visualizations

High-Level Planning and Problem Solving

• Design with awareness of grading, site constraints, and construction feasibility
• Coordinate with engineers and contractors as needed to ensure viable solutions

Material and Experience Curation

• Lead material selection strategy across projects
• Ensure cohesion across finishes, textures, and overall spatial experience
• Create a premium, curated design outcome

Design Standards and Brand Elevation

• Define and maintain Vizyon’s design standards
• Improve layout quality, presentation clarity, and overall client experience

Qualifications

• 7–15+ years of experience in landscape architecture or high-end residential design
• Proven experience designing complex backyard environments and outdoor living spaces
• Experience working directly with high-net-worth clients
• Strong portfolio showcasing built projects (not just renderings)
• Excellent spatial planning and layout skills
• Ability to present, communicate, and defend design decisions clearly
• Understanding of grading, site planning, and real-world constraints

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or similar design platforms
• Familiarity with 3D visualization tools (Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, or similar)
• Experience coordinating with contractors, engineers, and permitting processes
