Lead DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to join their innovative IT and Software team. This role will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining our client's cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. You will be responsible for automating and streamlining our operations and processes, while also mentoring a team of engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code. This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in the Kano, Kano, NG office on designated days.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment of software applications.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization and improvement.
• Ensure the security and compliance of the cloud environment through robust security practices and tools.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure and operational procedures.
• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Participate in on-call rotations for incident response and resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
