Lead DevOps Engineer (f/m/x) –Client Facing Channels
0010 Deutsche Bank Aktiengesellschaft
About the role
About the Job
Deutsche Bank Technology in Berlin (DB Technology) is a global team of tech specialists focused on technical excellence and financial services innovation. Our Berlin location is growing, and we are committed to building a diverse workforce and creating excellent opportunities for talented engineers and technologists.
You will be part of the Channel and Market Integration (CMI) Squad, developing platforms that unify the Bank's interfaces with external systems. This platform handles payment processes and provides orchestrating services on a cloud-based microservice architecture. We offer an environment that supports continuous growth and learning, with a strong focus on excellence and mutual respect.
The ideal candidate will define the continuous delivery roadmap for a leading Corporate Bank program and lead across the Software Development Lifecycle, applying agile principles. You should have extensive experience in large digital transformation programs as a lead engineer, involving cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, containerized platforms, and secure managed runtimes. You will lead through technical expertise, hands-on contributions, and ownership, not people management.

- Apply best practices in software engineering to deliver optimum results.
- Drive DevOps initiatives and bring technical excellence to the production stage of software products.
- Understand team needs and troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Adopt new technology trends to provide industry-standard solutions for maintaining hygiene and risk control.
- Bring infrastructure expertise to the team and act as a subject matter expert.
Skills and Experiences
- Extensive engineering and programming experience with DevOps tooling, orchestration, and automation (Bash, Python, Docker, Terraform, Ansible).
- Solid understanding of runtime virtual machines for compiled languages.
- Skilled in setting up and using CI/CD and version-control tools (GitHub, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins).
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and their core services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage), Kubernetes, and deployment patterns (e.g., blue-green, canary).
- Proven experience maintaining databases, distributed client-server systems, and computing/storage clusters.
- Strong Linux expertise.
- Additional plus skills in the Java ecosystem (Spring Boot, Maven), JVM languages, Oracle, Postgres, Kafka, data stacks, message brokers, and OpenShift.
