About the role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Electrical Systems Architect to spearhead the design and implementation of complex electrical systems for cutting-edge technological projects. This is a fully remote, contract-based role offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape innovative solutions. You will be responsible for architecting robust, scalable, and efficient electrical infrastructures, from conceptualization through to detailed design and deployment. This includes defining system requirements, selecting appropriate technologies and components, developing detailed schematics, and ensuring seamless integration with other system elements. Expertise in power electronics, embedded systems, digital and analog circuit design, and system-level integration is essential. You will work closely with hardware and software development teams, providing critical electrical engineering leadership and technical direction. A deep understanding of signal integrity, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), thermal management, and power integrity is crucial for success. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to tackle highly complex technical challenges. You must be adept at communicating intricate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including stakeholders, project managers, and fellow engineers. Proficiency in advanced simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, ANSYS HFSS) and schematic capture software is mandatory. This role requires a strategic thinker who can anticipate future technological trends and design systems that are future-proof and adaptable. You will play a key role in defining best practices and driving technical excellence across the organization. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a remote, collaborative environment and is passionate about pushing the boundaries of electrical engineering.

Responsibilities: Define and architect high-level electrical system designs for complex projects. Develop detailed electrical schematics, block diagrams, and system specifications. Select and evaluate electrical components, sub-systems, and technologies. Oversee and guide the detailed design and implementation of electrical systems. Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, safety, and cost requirements. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, mechanical) to ensure system integration. Conduct thorough design reviews, simulations, and analyses (e.g., power, thermal, signal integrity). Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical system issues during development and testing. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior electrical engineers. Stay current with emerging electrical engineering trends and technologies. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical system design and architecture. Extensive experience with analog, digital, and power electronics design. Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS HFSS, Allegro). Strong understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGAs. Expertise in signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC/EMI principles. Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex electrical systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. This exciting remote opportunity based in **Kano, Kano, NG** offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and the challenging nature of the role.
