Lead Engineer Service Platforms and AI

Your role in the team

• You take a leading role within a cross-discipline agile team to create future-oriented solutions to complex problems in a complex enterprise environment and shepherd them through the entire SDLC lifecycle, from initial concept and high level architecture to implementation and deployment.
• You take end-to-end technical ownership of projects and components and collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to ensure that business, technical, governance and regulatory requirements are documented and fulfilled and drive internal processes forward.
• You engage actively in mentoring, knowledge sharing, development and coaching not only members of your squad, but engineers in the Services Tribe and across the Bank.
• You proudly contribute to a culture of delivering excellence and constant improvement, maintaining stability, risk management, and control with every release milestone.
• You collaborate with QA and DevOps to keep our products reliable and secure.

Our expectations:

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of software architecture and system design, including microservices, concurrency, database design, distributed systems, and message or event based systems.
• General familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning technology in general and LLMs in particular; professional application such as MLOps or LLM-powered services is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; German is not required but will be an asset.

Experience

• Outstanding software engineering skills with JVM languages (Java/Kotlin) and/or Python to build complex backend applications and practical experience with modern SDLC (Git, CI/CD pipelines) and cloud (GCP preferred) technologies.
• Experience in financial institutions or other highly regulated environments is a plus.
