Lead Engineer/Manager

Introduction

To take full ownership of software engineering delivery, ensuring high-quality, ontime execution of PLC/SCADA projects, while building a scalable engineering capability. Delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of PCS7, PLC and SCADA systems.

Ensure projects meet scope, timelines, and quality standards.

Take full accountability for software delivery performance.

Review and approve control logic standards, SCADA standards, system architectures and

network designs.

Provide technical direction and enforce best practices.

Drive standardisation and re-use of engineering components.

Team Management and Development

Manage and Mentor Software Engineers.

Allocate work and track performance.

Develop team capability in PCS7, PLC, SCADA, and associated documentation methods.

Engineering Standards and Systems

Implement coding standards, naming conventions, and reusable libraries.

Establish Quality Assurance and testing processes.

Improve consistency and reduce engineering risk.

Project Planning and Coordination

Coordinate with Project Management and Operations Departments.

Align engineering e\uDBC0\uDDAFort with budget and timelines.

Identify and manage project risks early.

Client Technical Engagement

Support Design Department Reviews, FATs, and SATs.

Engage with client technical teams.

Present and defend technical solutions.

SLA and Support Oversight

Ensure SLA performance targets are met.

Oversee support team response and resolution.

Implement root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Ensure Software Engineering Department compliance to ISO 9001:2015 Standards

Desired Experience & Qualification

8–12+ years in Industrial Automation or PLC/SCADA engineering.

Proven experience leading teams or large-scale projects.

Strong experience with Siemens PCS7, TIA Portal, and S7 PLCs.

Experience with WinCC , AVEVA , Rockwell and Inductive automation SCADA systems.

Proficiency in SCL and IEC 61131-3 programming.

Understanding of industrial networks and redundancy systems.

Ability to design full automation systems.

Ability to Lead and Manage Engineering teams.

Strong decision-making and accountability.

Ability to challenge and guide engineers.

Understanding of project costs, margins, and scope control.

Ability to align engineering e\uDBC0\uDDAFort with commercial outcomes.
