Role Overview

The Lead Financial Analyst III is pivotal in managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. This dynamic role provides actionable financial insights through in-depth analysis, financial modeling, and scenario planning, enabling strategic decision-making.

You will collaborate closely with business leaders to deliver data-driven recommendations, uncover risks and opportunities, and enhance financial performance across the organization. The ideal candidate will be analytical, proactive, and skilled at engaging with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support forecasting activities, including monthly forecasts and quarterly updates, while providing recommendations to boost forecast accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Analyze financial performance data, identify trends, and maintain short- and long-term financial models.
  • Conduct variance analysis, investigate key drivers, and communicate insights clearly and concisely.
  • Deliver timely financial insights and reports to Senior Management, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Act as a primary liaison between Operations, Utility Leads, and cross-functional teams to align on financial assumptions and outcomes.
  • Provide data analysis support for rate cases, including preparing analyses and responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Lead the planning and monitoring of capital budgets, tracking expenditure against budgets.
  • Manage revenue planning and forecasting, analyzing key drivers, and delivering actionable insights for decision-making and compliance.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and periodic budget reviews, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Work closely with Treasury, Tax, Accounting, and Corporate FP&A to align planning assumptions and maintain consistency across stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining company-wide Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Proactively learn the FP&A and reporting systems to enhance processes and address any control gaps.
  • Provide insights and advice on strategic financial matters.
  • Create various management presentations as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Possession of an accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management accounting principles.
  • Proficient in creating reports and business correspondence; comfortable presenting information and answering questions from diverse groups.
  • Exceptional analytical, modeling, and spreadsheet/database skills, developed through formal training or experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP SAC is a plus.
  • Experience in utilities, energy, or other regulated industries is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player focused on driving continuous improvement.
