We are working with a well-funded, high-growth aerospace company building next-generation mission-focused spacecraft and satellite systems.
With significant recent investment and a leadership team that has scaled multiple successful space ventures, this organisation is now hiring a Lead Flight Software Architect/Engineer to take ownership of spacecraft flight software architecture for advanced satellite missions.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a small, high-calibre engineering team where technical decisions move quickly and impact missions directly.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Architecting and designing end-to-end spacecraft flight software systems
• Leading development across command and data handling, fault management, GNC and payload integration
• Driving hardware-in-the-loop testing campaigns across mission scenarios
• Conducting mission and orbital analysis, including Monte Carlo simulations
• Collaborating closely with systems, avionics and payload teams
• Mentoring engineers and shaping technical direction
What We’re Looking For:
• 10–15 years of spacecraft flight software experience
• Strong GNC algorithm development and implementation background
• Extensive HITL testing and validation experience
• Mission and orbital analysis expertise
• Proven experience taking software from concept through on-orbit operations
• US Citizenship required
