Are you ready to take the next step in your career? As a Principal Front End/Full Stack Developer within our Quantitative Development team, you will play a vital role as a technical leader. Here, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and deployment of sophisticated end-to-end web applications used by investment professionals and senior executives. Collaborating closely with quantitative analysts and fellow technology teams, you'll work in a dynamic environment, architecting technology solutions focused on portfolio construction, risk management, and alpha research.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) for complex full-stack applications.
- Define and maintain the technical architecture for new and existing web applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to both junior and senior developers, while upholding high coding standards through rigorous code reviews.
- Work closely with quantitative analysts and business users to translate business needs into effective, user-friendly technical solutions.
What You Bring to the Table
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying complex web applications.
- A successful track record of managing projects through the full SDLC, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Expertise in modern front-end development, particularly with Angular. Familiarity with other frameworks such as React or Vue.js is a plus.
- Strong back-end development skills, with a primary focus on Python and its web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
- Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) with strong SQL skills.
- A solid grasp of object-oriented design and development, along with knowledge of standard software design patterns.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and tech partners.
- Experience with data visualization libraries and UI component libraries.
- A strong background in financial services, with an understanding of investment risk. Progress toward FRM or CFA Charter is a significant advantage.
About Our Team
The Asset Management Embedded Quantitative Development team operates within Asset Management's Quantitative Research & Investment Technology group. We collaborate with investment teams in Fidelity Asset Management Solutions, engaging in projects centered around portfolio construction, risk management, and alpha research. Our team is dedicated to creating high-quality, efficient, and responsive solutions that enhance productivity and facilitate better decision-making processes at Fidelity.
The base salary range for this position is $107,000-216,000 USD per year, contingent on job responsibilities, geographic location, candidate experience, and other factors. Base salary is just one component of a competitive total compensation package, which may include bonuses or other variable compensation.

Please note that most roles at Fidelity are hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (Monday–Friday) in a Fidelity office. Specific expectations for this position will be provided by your recruiter.
