Lead Full Stack Application Developer

JOB SUMMARY

Highmark Health is seeking a dynamic Lead Full Stack Application Developer to drive impactful projects and enhance our application development capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in frontend technologies like Angular and TypeScript, alongside backend experience in Java and Oracle. Familiarity with Spring Boot, containerization, PrimeNG, and Tailwind CSS is advantageous.

In this role, you will take the initiative in delivering complex software solutions as part of a collaborative project team. Your responsibilities will include analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing high-quality applications that align with customer needs and Highmark IT standards. Additionally, you will be involved in providing ongoing support and mentorship to junior developers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of intricate application enhancements while ensuring compliance with target dates and budgets.
• Actively participate in comprehensive system development life cycle processes in line with Highmark's SDLC standards.
• Work closely with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements and develop innovative technical solutions.
• Provide necessary technical support for releases and be available for on-call duties and 24x7 support when required.
• Adhere to all Highmark and IT standards, policies, and procedures while performing your work.
• Play a pivotal role in various projects, contributing as a Developer, Technical Lead, or Project Manager based on your experience.
• Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and management, conducting technical walkthroughs and reporting project status accurately.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required

• Minimum of 5 years of development experience.
• Familiarity with project management tools.
• Experience working with databases.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages.

Preferred

• Expertise in Angular, TypeScript, and API integration. Experience with Java, Oracle, PL/SQL, Spring Boot, containerization, PrimeNG, and Tailwind CSS.

LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS

• Certifications such as JAVA Developer, DB2 Certification, or Cognos Certification.

SKILLS

• Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and issue resolution skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Experience in the Healthcare or Health Insurance sectors.
• Familiarity with technology platforms, application development tools, business processes, and the software development life cycle used within the Highmark enterprise.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENT

PAY RANGE

Pay Range Minimum: $86,400.00

Pay Range Maximum: $138,600.00

Base pay is determined by various factors, including qualifications, experience, and market considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential.
