Lead Geotechnical Engineer - Remote Analysis

Our client, a prominent global consultancy, is looking for a highly skilled Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. This role focuses on providing expert geotechnical analysis and design support for diverse mining projects worldwide. You will be responsible for overseeing the interpretation of subsurface investigations, conducting advanced geotechnical analyses, and developing robust foundation and slope stability designs. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing ground conditions, identifying potential risks, and recommending appropriate engineering solutions to ensure the safety and efficiency of mining operations.

Key responsibilities include managing multiple geotechnical investigation programs, from planning and procurement to data analysis and reporting. You will lead the development of detailed geotechnical models using specialized software and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and geologists. Preparing comprehensive geotechnical reports, specifications, and design drawings that comply with international standards and client requirements will be a core function. Furthermore, you will liaise with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of geotechnical recommendations into overall project plans.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering with a geotechnical specialization, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, with a significant focus on the mining industry, is required. Proven experience in numerical modeling (e.g., Finite Element Analysis) and the use of geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio) is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication abilities, are necessary for this role. You must be able to work independently, manage your workload effectively, and meet project deadlines in a remote setting. Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent licensure is highly desirable.
