Lead Geothermal Energy Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Geothermal Energy Engineer to spearhead innovative projects in the renewable energy sector. This critical role involves the end-to-end management of geothermal energy development, from exploration and resource assessment to project design, construction, and operation. You will lead a team of engineers and geoscientists, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of geothermal thermodynamics, reservoir engineering, drilling technologies, and power plant design. Responsibilities include: Overseeing the geological and geophysical exploration for geothermal resources. Conducting feasibility studies and techno-economic assessments for new geothermal projects. Designing and managing the drilling and completion of production and injection wells. Developing and optimizing geothermal reservoir models. Designing geothermal power plant systems (e.g., binary, flash, dry steam). Managing project execution, including procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Developing and implementing operational and maintenance strategies for geothermal facilities. Leading and mentoring a team of engineers and technical staff. Collaborating with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, investors, and local communities. Staying current with advancements in geothermal technology and best practices. Preparing technical reports, proposals, and presentations for management and clients. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Geothermal Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field is required. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the geothermal energy industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, is essential. Proven track record of successfully developing and managing geothermal projects is a must. Strong knowledge of geothermal resource assessment, reservoir simulation, well design, and power plant engineering is necessary. Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills are critical. Experience with GIS and geological modeling software is advantageous. This position is based in **Ibadan, Oyo, NG**, and requires regular on-site presence to oversee project activities.
