As a Lead Infrastructure Security Engineer – Perimeter Security on the Security Services Data Protection team, you will deliver security controls to the enterprise to meet security requirements. You will partake in a systems development lifecycle to integrate security controls into existing infrastructure while minimizing operational risks and you will provide support to existing controls.
Responsibilities
- Engineering, implementation, and support of perimeter security controls
- Work with Cyber Security stakeholders to align existing and new capabilities with security policies, standards, and outcomes
- Coordinate deployment with business units to achieve security outcomes while minimizing the risk of service disruption
- Operate within an agile framework to break down engineering efforts into sprints and progressively meet pre‑defined objectives
- Provide recurring progress updates via a JIRA board and during daily scrums
- Serve as tier 4 support during standard work hours and rotate for after‑hours support
- Assist with driving operational excellence by enhancing capabilities, their supporting ecosystems, and the capability knowledge base
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in an IT engineering role
- Working knowledge of IT engineering concepts and the key milestones of a systems development lifecycle
- Fundamental knowledge of on‑premises perimeter security controls (e.g., web proxies, next‑generation firewalls)
- Fundamental knowledge of cloud‑based perimeter security controls (e.g., WAF, Denial of Service, Zero Trust products such as Z‑Scaler ZTNA suite)
- Experience creating technical documents such as engineering specifications, runbooks, and playbooks
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years in an IT Security role
- Basic scripting ability using mainstream languages such as PowerShell and Python
- AWS and/or Azure certification
- Proficiency with one of the following security capabilities: WAF, NGFW, Secure Web Gateway, or Z‑Scaler ZTNA product suite
- Familiarity with RFI/RFP processes
