The Lead IT Business Analyst will collaborate with business leaders to effectively identify and convert complex user requirements into actionable user stories, design documentation, process flows, and other crucial documentation that serves the entire organization. This role demands exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to organize meetings and workshops to foster ongoing improvements in processes and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance in the development and implementation of robust business solutions.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and interviews with stakeholders to accurately capture business needs while aligning them with project objectives.
  • Manage and prioritize requirements in close collaboration with product management and cross-functional teams.
  • Adapt requirements based on timelines, complexity, and other relevant business factors.
  • Work collaboratively with Business and Technical teams to groom and prioritize tasks, ensuring effective communication and high-quality delivery.
  • Define and document business dependencies, comprehending the intricacies of integrated platforms.
  • Analyze complex business processes, pinpointing automation opportunities and reengineering processes to enhance automation viability.
  • Conduct data mapping and articulate all aspects of integration among platforms.
  • Partner with project managers to outline and prioritize tasks and resources for successful project completion, while identifying, documenting, tracking, and communicating risks, assumptions, issues, and decisions.
  • Document assigned feature sets and collaborate with Quality Assurance to validate system functionality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing sessions to ensure a successful operational handoff for launched features.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in business analysis.
  • Work independently while managing daily workloads to adapt to shifting business priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Proficiency in web-based platforms and working with APIs.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to create mockups, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Experience leading requirement meetings during business requirement gathering and design discussions.
  • Familiarity with essential documentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience.
  • Background in quality assurance with experience in full-cycle testing of functional requirements.
  • Scrum training and/or certifications.
  • Business Analysis certification such as CBAP or PMI-PBA is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge in importing and analyzing data for reporting purposes.
  • Strong understanding of database hardware, software, and standards, along with data retrieval methodologies.
  • Proficient in business analysis tools such as Microsoft Visio, Excel, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Strong customer service orientation and collaborative skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and a logical, efficient approach.
