Java Lead

About

Software Engineer Lead, you will be a part of our exciting payment modernization journey developing backend applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful services, to back-end Java-based systems using the hottest techniques in Big Data. You'll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as: Java, J2EE, Springboot, Maven and AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Nothing is off limits as we explore exciting ways to take advantage of open source libraries, design patterns, modern cloud-based architecture, and advanced monitoring tools.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience; or
• At least 4 years of experience in software development

Including at least one of the following:

• At least 2 years of experience in Java, J2EE and Springboot
• At least 2 years of experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular or NodeJS
• At least 2 years of experience building and maintaining Jenkins pipelines, developing test automation and implementing monitoring and alerting

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
• Continuously improve software engineering practices
• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• • 2 years of experience in AWS Cloud
• • 2 years of experience writing serverless functions with AWS Lambda, Apache Spark or Apache Kafka
• • 2 years of experience with infrastructure automation
• • 2 years of experience in test automation engineering
• • 2 years of experience with GitHub, Artifactory or Jenkins
• • 2 years of experience writing serverless functions (AWS Lambda)
