Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of Alteryx: Configure, administer, and optimize Alteryx Server/Cloud environments, schedules, credentials, governance, and upgrades.
  • Enhance Tableau performance: Engineer and manage Tableau Server/Cloud, optimizing sites, permissions, extracts, schedules, and performance tuning.
  • Operate platforms effectively: Implement monitoring and alerting, establish SLOs, perform capacity planning, troubleshoot incidents, and improve reliability.
  • Improve data quality: Implement quality checks, tracking, and standards for naming, modeling, and documentation.
  • Strengthen security and compliance: Align solutions with Cybersecurity standards, data privacy regulations, and relevant GxP/21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively: Translate business requirements into technical solutions while balancing delivery speed with platform integrity.
  • Provide expert support: Offer L2/L3 support, guide service desk efforts, and maintain comprehensive runbooks and knowledge articles.
  • Optimize performance and cost: Tune queries and extracts, manage compute/storage efficiently, and ensure license competency.
  • Standardize and innovate: Develop engineering standards, maintain SOPs and templates, and assess new technologies for implementation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in a relevant field with a Bachelor's; or 6+ years with a Master's; or a PhD with 3+ years; or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering and/or analytics platform engineering, with 3+ years hands-on experience with Alteryx and Tableau in enterprise settings.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling, with experience using data transformation tools like Alteryx, dbt, or Azure Data Factory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications including Alteryx Designer, Tableau Desktop Specialist, ITIL Foundation, and cloud certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Experience with Snowflake, Python for automation, CI/CD practices (Git, DevOps), and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Familiarity with biotech/life sciences or regulated industries, including knowledge of data privacy standards and GxP regulations.

Compensation and Benefits

The US salary range for this position is $120,000 to $172,500, varying based on location, skills, and experience.
