Lead Product Designer
Humana
About the role
About CenterWell Pharmacy
CenterWell Pharmacy is excited to welcome a Lead Product Designer to our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will influence and enhance digital experiences from inception to delivery, guiding projects from discovery through UX definition, interface design, prototyping, and validation. You will collaborate closely with the Lead of UX Strategy to drive our design vision.
We're looking for a versatile designer who can not only navigate complex problem spaces but also translate visionary concepts into clear user flows, interaction models, and refined digital experiences. You will be an essential partner to our Product, Engineering, Research, Content, BI, and fellow Design teams, collaborating within a product-focused team with a shared goal of excellence.
Your Responsibilities
Comprehensive Product Design
- Lead design initiatives from conceptualization to implementation for both web and mobile platforms.
- Transform business objectives, user needs, analytics, and research insights into seamless end-to-end experiences.
- Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that clearly define product direction and expedite delivery.
- Enhance both the UX structure and visual/interface design of our digital products.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, feasibility, and adherence to quality standards.
Identify Opportunities and Define Challenges
- Define crucial problems by synthesizing research, customer feedback, behavioral insights, and business context.
- Outline opportunity areas, articulate design rationale, and clarify the direction for ambiguous product challenges.
- Recognize tradeoffs, delve into root causes, and guide teams towards solutions that prioritize customer satisfaction and business success.
- Support strategic planning by aligning product direction with genuine user needs and operational realities.
Collaborative Team Dynamics
- Engage closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Content Designers, BI partners, and other Design colleagues in a collaborative atmosphere.
- Contribute to shaping project hypotheses, evaluating alternatives, and ensuring team alignment on experience direction.
- Effectively communicate your work to stakeholders, clearly articulating not only the proposals but the reasoning behind them.
- Help foster a product-team culture that emphasizes outcomes, continuous learning, and improvement.
Quality Experience and Strategic Insight
- Design with a holistic view of the broader service ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration rather than just focusing on individual screens.
- Maintain consistency across journeys, channels, and touchpoints while addressing the specific product context.
- Utilize and enhance design systems and reusable patterns where appropriate.
- Apply systems-level thinking to navigate complex, regulated, and cross-functional environments.
Preferred: AI-Enhanced Design
- Employ AI tools to streamline synthesis, concept design, prototyping, and documentation when beneficial.
- Exercise discernment in identifying valuable insights versus superficial outputs.
- Explore innovative workflows to enhance speed, clarity, and decision-making in design processes.
Your Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, interaction design, or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to transform vague inputs into cohesive product and experience direction.
- Solid understanding of UX principles, including information architecture, interaction design, journey design, and prototyping.
- Strong UI design skills, enabling the creation of thoughtful and polished digital interfaces.
- Experience working collaboratively in a product development environment with cross-functional teams.
- Skills in synthesizing research, analytics, and business contexts into actionable design insights.
- Able to juggle multiple projects and thrive in uncertain situations.
- Portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design thinking, from problem definition to delivery.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within healthcare, pharmacy, insurance, or other complex regulated industries.
- Familiarity with designing for authenticated consumer experiences, self-service journeys, or multi-step service interactions.
- Previous collaboration with research, analytics, and content teams.
- Experience leading workshops, alignment meetings, or discovery initiatives.
- Familiarity with using AI tools in design and research contexts.
- Experience working with design systems in large-scale environments.
