Job Summary
In this strategic role, you will develop and implement comprehensive plans that enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence. Engage with key stakeholders and manage critical vendor relationships, navigating the complexities of regulatory compliance. Your ability to foresee potential challenges and mitigate risks will be vital in maintaining both project timelines and budgets. As a high-impact leader, you will ensure the successful management and delivery of key initiatives aligned with our strategic roadmap.
This role will oversee critical data center projects and initiatives, making effective management essential to the overall success of customer deliveries. You will work directly with our Colo and LV partners' leadership and project management teams to drive accountability and improvements that align with customer expectations. Additionally, you will coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper design and process documentation delivery, execute ISP circuit contracts, and update internal tracking tools for seamless handover to our operations teams upon project completion.
This position requires up to 25% travel to the Virginia area. This role is based in Abilene, TX. If you do not relocate to Abilene, 70% travel may be required weekly.
Responsibilities
- Lead the program end-to-end, shaping the approach to achieve desired outcomes through successful delivery.
- Project Planning: Develop long-term strategies for data center construction and network projects in alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure design and construction are fully synchronized before contracting.
- Work closely with the Construction team to facilitate effective handoffs and collaboration.
- Manage all phases of complex data center construction projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate Tenant Fit Out and LV Integration throughout design, construction, commissioning, and fit-out processes.
- Select, negotiate, and manage external vendors and contractors to ensure project success.
- Oversee project budgets to ensure resource optimization and financial compliance.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to uphold project timelines and costs.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
- Implement quality control processes to uphold construction and operational excellence.
- Conduct regular project visits to ensure schedule adherence, coordination, and quality throughout the project's lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges in fast-paced environments.
- Expertise in developing long-term strategies and establishing program-level guidelines for construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of data center design, construction, and operational requirements, particularly regarding innovative technologies and sustainability.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale data center construction projects from inception to completion, including advanced project scheduling and tracking.
- Leadership skills to inspire and mentor a diverse team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals.
- Experience in creating, managing, and optimizing project budgets for effective resource use.
- Capability to identify potential risks and create effective strategies to minimize impacts on projects.
- Extensive experience in vendor management, including selecting, negotiating, and managing contracts.
