About the role
Our client, a global leader in industrial manufacturing and automation, is seeking an innovative and results-oriented Lead Remote Process Optimization Engineer to drive significant improvements across their operational processes. This is a crucial, fully remote position requiring a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, Lean methodologies, and Six Sigma. You will be responsible for analyzing complex operational workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and designing and implementing data-driven solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the identification, analysis, and continuous improvement of industrial processes using advanced engineering techniques. Develop and implement strategic plans for process optimization, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, quality enhancement, and safety. Utilize statistical analysis and data modeling to understand process variations and identify root causes of inefficiencies and defects. Design and implement Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, including value stream mapping, kaizen events (facilitated remotely), and statistical process control (SPC). Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics. Collaborate closely with remote engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to implement and sustain process improvements. Facilitate and lead remote workshops and training sessions on process improvement methodologies for cross-functional teams. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and automation solutions to enhance operational performance. Monitor process performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports and actionable insights to management. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout the organization. Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members involved in process improvement projects. Ensure all process changes comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies. Manage project timelines and resources effectively for optimization initiatives. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable. Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or operations management, with a significant focus on optimization. Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt is required. Demonstrated experience in leading and successfully implementing complex process improvement projects. Proficiency in process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Arena) and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and automation technologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead and influence remote teams. Experience in project management and delivering results within defined timelines. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently in a remote setting. Familiarity with simulation software and data analytics platforms is a plus.
