As a Lead Senior Accountant at Datavant, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment focused on creating transformative change in the healthcare sector. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong analytical and leadership abilities, particularly someone who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.

Your contributions will be pivotal in fulfilling Datavant's core mission to transform healthcare. If you are passionate about enhancing a high-performing finance function in a rapidly growing healthtech company, this opportunity is for you.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing and uploading journal entries for balance sheet and expense accounts.
• Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all reconciling items are accurate and accounted for properly.
• Leading the preparation, review, and posting of monthly accruals, including operating expenses, vendor liabilities, and recurring journal entries.
• Collaborating with the Accounts Payable team to resolve discrepancies and boost internal controls.
• Monitoring invoice accruals versus actuals and providing insights on spending patterns.
• Conducting monthly detailed variance analysis.
• Cross-training and providing backup support for other accounting staff.
• Assisting the Accounting Manager with month-end close and journal entry reviews.
• Coordinating accounting deliverables for planning, interim, and year-end audit processes.
• Identifying and participating in the enhancement of current processes for improved efficiency and productivity.
• Assisting with accounting activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
• Performing ad hoc account analyses to support the business.

What You Bring to the Team:

• 5+ years of experience in a related accounting position.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, and familiarity with Google Sheets.
• Experience with accounting and ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
• Experience with accrual accounting and Accounts Payable systems, ideally Coupa.
• Familiarity with month-end close and general ledger processes.
• Experience in a large company with high transaction volumes.
• A proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Great attention to detail and strong observational skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A collaborative work style with a strong work ethic; you will make and own critical decisions confidently.

We offer a competitive salary range of $89,000-$105,000 USD for this position. To ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof of vaccinations such as COVID-19, flu, and Tdap.
