Job Summary

SHI is looking for a visionary and experienced Lead Software Architect to spearhead the architecture and development of our eCommerce platform. This role represents a critical technology pillar for our company and is perfect for architects well-versed in designing, scaling, and optimizing complex eCommerce systems. You will establish the architectural vision, inspire technical excellence, mentor engineers, and collaborate across departments to ensure our platform is robust, scalable, secure, and poised for future advancements.

Role Description

  • Architecture & Design: Take ownership of the entire architecture of SHI's eCommerce platform, ensuring it aligns with business goals, is scalable, secure, and provides an exceptional customer experience.
  • Technical Leadership: Set and advocate for high engineering standards, design patterns, and architectural best practices to enhance code quality, maintainability, and system resilience.
  • eCommerce Expertise: Utilize your deep knowledge of eCommerce platforms—including shopping cart systems, payment solutions, catalog, order management, search functionality, and personalization—to guide system design and modernization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, senior engineers, the security team, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical strategies.
  • Mentorship & Influence: Mentor and support engineers and architects, facilitating technical discussions, conducting architectural reviews, and fostering development in architectural thinking.
  • Strategy & Road Mapping: Create and continuously improve the architectural roadmap for the eCommerce platform to balance technical debts with innovation and feature delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement modern techniques, practices, and technologies to enhance platform quality, developer productivity, and overall business agility.
  • Documentation & Communication: Develop and maintain high-quality architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical standards tailored for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • DevOps & Cloud-Native Practices: Lead the cloud adoption process, CI/CD implementations, observability strategies, and ensure the platform remains reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective.
  • Technical Contributions: Contribute significantly to design decisions and establish technical and coding standards for software development.
  • Software Development Leadership: Oversee the software design and development process driven by functional requirements from product teams, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve software bugs, proposing and releasing necessary fixes.
  • Documentation Management: Lead the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and visual representations.
  • Team Development: Promote a high-performance development environment, enhancing team productivity, testing, and integration.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing DevOps methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience with C#, React, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Compensation

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000, which may include a base salary and bonus. Compensation is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location; it may vary individually. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending options.
