In this position as Lead Software Development Engineer, your responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end web applications within the InterSystems IRIS platform.
- Developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Collaborating with UI/UX designers and backend developers.
- Implementing automated tests as part of delivery.
- Participating in Agile/Scrum meetings, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Integrating relational and NoSQL databases such as InterSystems IRIS, PostgreSQL, or S3.
- Leading code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
- Optimizing applications for maximum speed, scalability, and performance.
- Ensuring application security and data privacy.
- Overseeing the work of a small development team, including task planning and distribution, progress monitoring, and meeting deadlines.
About you
You are suited for the Lead Software Development Engineer role if you have the following qualifications:
- More than 10 years of professional experience as a developer.
- Experience with InterSystems IRIS, Caché, or Ensemble is a plus.
- Experience with supply chain interoperability formats (EDIFACT/EANCOM, XML, X12, IDOC) and/or healthcare interoperability formats (HL7, FHIR, X12) is a plus.
- Experience with interoperability protocols (SFTP, AS2, HTTPS) and/or messaging queues (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) is a plus.
- Solid knowledge in RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools.
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Successfully passing an enhanced background check.
