About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Lead Solutions Architect specializing in Mainframe Modernization. In this dynamic and hands-on position, you will engage with our customers to design and implement innovative solutions that advance their Digital Transformation journeys. You will tackle complex technical challenges, establish best practices, and set modernization standards within mainframe legacy environments. Ideal candidates will have in-depth expertise in areas such as: • Infrastructure Modernization: Optimize workloads in a Hybrid Cloud framework. • Application Modernization: Transition from monolithic applications to Cloud-Native APIs. • Microservices Process Modernization: Foster an enterprise-wide DevOps culture for accelerated application delivery.

Key Responsibilities: • Assist customers and systems integrators in designing scalable, high-availability solutions utilizing the Rocket Enterprise Portfolio. • Collaborate closely with customer business, development, and infrastructure teams. • Develop and conduct proof of concept analyses and pilot projects. • Deliver customer presentations and training to peer groups. • Align and enable consulting partners with the Rocket Enterprise modernization methodology. • Provide architectural recommendations to ensure successful customer engagements globally. • Create and share technical content, including blogs, whitepapers, and presentations at major events.

Minimum Qualifications: • Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field. • 4 to 10 years of experience leading mainframe and legacy modernization initiatives. • Strong familiarity with major Cloud providers and technologies, including AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, Docker, and Kubernetes. • Proficiency in analyzing on-premises mainframe applications to devise modernization strategies aligned with customer objectives. • Relevant architecture certifications, such as AWS Solution Architect Professional or Microsoft Azure Solution Architect. • Fluent written and verbal English communication skills. • Experience leading migrations to the Rocket Enterprise Server platform.

Core Technical Expertise Required: • Infrastructure Modernization: • Familiar with tools for migrating mainframe workloads and experience with COBOL modernization. • Hands-on experience with mainframe technology (e.g., COBOL, JCL, CICS). • Understanding of distributed and Cloud environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Containers). • Application Modernization: • Strong architectural and design analysis skills, with experience refactoring complex applications. • Knowledge of Cloud Computing, Microservices, and serverless architectures. • Process Modernization: • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle, particularly in a DevOps context. • Experience with automation pipelines and agile engineering practices.

Annual salary range for this position is $114,500.00 - $154,575.00 before taxes.
