Lead SRE

Position: Lead SRE Hybrid Role at BMO Drive reliability and performance as a Lead Site Reliability Engineer k hybrid from Scarborough, integrating cloud engineering with strong developer skills to enhance system resilience.

BMO is on the lookout for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen its IT team. This hybrid position involves working closely with developers to design, build, and operate cloud-based systems that are both scalable and resilient. You will lead the definition of reliability targets and mentor engineers while contributing to SRE best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize software engineering for reliability problem-solving

• Build cloud services emphasizing operability and simplicity

• Partner with application teams to streamline processes

• Improve service reliability targets like SLIs and SLOs

• Implement observability and lead disaster recovery testing

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline

• 5+ years in software development (Node.js, Python, Java)

• Solid experience with AWS and cloud platforms

• In-depth knowledge of SRE principles

• Background in chaos engineering is advantageous
