Our client, a prominent player in the construction and infrastructure development sector, is looking for a highly skilled and results-oriented Lead Structural Engineer to join their team in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This role is crucial for overseeing the design and execution of significant construction projects, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with all relevant building codes and safety regulations. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, and managing design processes from concept to completion. This position requires a deep understanding of structural analysis, material science, and construction methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Developing and reviewing structural designs for various construction projects, including commercial buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities.
• Performing complex structural calculations and simulations using specialized software.
• Ensuring all designs meet industry standards, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Mentoring and supervising junior structural engineers and technical staff.
• Collaborating with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conducting site inspections and providing engineering support during the construction phase.
• Managing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for structural engineering tasks.
• Staying abreast of the latest advancements in structural engineering technology and materials.

Qualifications

• A strong portfolio of successfully delivered complex structural engineering projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, coupled with professional registration (Pr. Eng) with ECSA, is required.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering is anticipated.
