Our client, a vibrant arts and entertainment organization in the Western Cape, is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Theatre Production Designer. This position, based in Paarl, Western Cape, ZA, is responsible for conceptualizing and executing the overall visual aesthetic for theatrical productions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with directors, choreographers, and other creative team members to translate artistic visions into tangible sets, costumes, props, and lighting designs.
• Create detailed design concepts.
• Draft technical drawings and models.
• Source materials.
• Oversee the construction and implementation of all scenic and design elements.

Requirements

• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional creativity, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of theatrical design principles across various genres.
• Experience in managing budgets, project timelines, and design teams is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including artisans, technicians, and performers.
• A keen eye for detail.
