Your Opportunity

We seek a Lead User Experience Researcher to elevate the usability, accessibility, and scholarly effectiveness of our research tools. This role involves in-depth exploration of how students, faculty, librarians, and researchers interact with academic content and digital research workflows. You will be instrumental in designing and leading studies that inform product strategy and implementing evidence-based improvements across higher education and library services.

What You'll Do

  • Take ownership of the entire research process, including planning, designing, and conducting both qualitative and quantitative studies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Translate complex research findings into clear and actionable insights that influence product development.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and stakeholders to shape product direction and strategy effectively.
  • Promote user-centered design principles and advocate for research best practices within teams.
  • Conduct usability testing, interviews, surveys, and field studies to gather valuable user insights.
  • Consolidate findings into structured deliverables, suchs as research reports, personas, journey maps, and frameworks.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusiveness, and equitable access to information in all research initiatives.

About You

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in UX research, human-computer interaction, or a similar field.
  • Deep understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces and provide clear research direction.
  • Experience working within cross-functional product teams.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities.
  • A diverse portfolio showcasing impactful work across complex problem areas.

What Sets You Apart:

  • An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Human-Computer Interaction, Library and Information Science, Psychology, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Experience conducting research with academic, library, or scholarly audiences.
  • Knowledge of information-seeking behavior, metadata, search relevance, or research evaluation methods.
  • History of working with institutional stakeholders such as universities, consortia, or research organizations.

Pay Range

USD $104,030.00 - USD $148,615.00 /Yr.
