Ascension is seeking a data-driven Learning Analyst to support a high-impact federal learning and workforce development initiative. This role is critical to enabling the client to measure, optimize, and continuously improve learning effectiveness through advanced analytics, dashboards, and AI-informed insights.
The ideal candidate is a hybrid analyst and strategist who understands how to translate learning data into actionable insights that drive workforce performance, skill development, and mission readiness. This individual will play a key role in helping leadership understand what is working, what is not, and where to invest in learning programs to maximize impact.
This role is essential to the success of the engagement as it directly supports data-driven decision-making, performance measurement, and continuous improvement, aligning with Ascension’s expertise in analytics, KPI development, and dashboard reporting.
Position Summary
The Learning Analyst will support the design, development, and implementation of learning analytics frameworks, dashboards, and reporting solutions to measure training effectiveness, learner engagement, and workforce capability development.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data analytics, learning systems (LMS/LXP), and performance measurement, combined with the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This individual must be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
This role requires someone who can:
- Transform raw learning and workforce data into meaningful insights and visualizations
- Develop and maintain dashboards tracking completion rates, learning hours, and skill progression
- Support AI-driven recommendations for personalized learning pathways
- Enable leadership with data-backed insights to improve training programs and workforce readiness
Day-to-Day Activities
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to track learning performance metrics
- Analyze training data to assess completion rates, engagement, learning hours, and skill development trends
- Translate data findings into clear insights and executive-level briefings
- Collaborate with instructional designers and SMEs to align analytics with learning objectives and outcomes
- Design and implement KPIs and performance measurement frameworks for training programs
- Support integration and analysis of data from LMS, HR systems, and survey platforms
- Apply predictive analytics or AI-driven techniques to recommend personalized learning paths
- Conduct data quality assessments and ensure data governance and integrity
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying gaps, trends, and optimization opportunities
- Develop documentation, data dictionaries, and reporting standards
- Participate in stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and present findings
Minimum / Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Education Analytics, or related field
- 5–8+ years of experience in data analytics, learning analytics, or workforce analytics
- Experience developing dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
- Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and/or data analysis tools (Python or R preferred)
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Learning Experience Platforms (LXP)
- Demonstrated experience developing KPIs, metrics, and performance dashboards
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desired / Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Learning Analytics, Organizational Development, or related field
- Experience supporting federal government or public sector clients
- Familiarity with AI/ML techniques for recommendation engines or predictive analytics
- Experience with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate) or similar tools
- Knowledge of learning evaluation models (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model)
- Experience integrating data across HR, training, and performance systems
- Certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
- PMP or Agile certifications (nice to have)
Suitability / Security Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (minimum)
- U.S. Citizenship required
