Position

Title: Lecturer Web Frontend Development (w/m/x) – Part‑time
Department: Creative Technologies (Bachelor and Master programmes “Code and Interactive Systems”)


Responsibilities

  • Teaching basic and advanced courses (e.g., Web Programming and Databases, Frontend Development, Design Systems and CSS, Native Mobile Development, Full‑Stack Development, Frontend Engineering) and supervising projects in Bachelor and Master programmes, amounting to 6 SWS. Instruction languages: German and English.
  • Coordinating and developing teaching events and materials in the Web & Mobile area.
  • Supervising scientific papers and student projects.
  • Contributing to research projects within the department and, if applicable, interdisciplinary projects.
  • Academic and organisational work in the study programmes, including qualitative development of Bachelor and Master curricula.
  • Developing and maintaining corporate and industry contacts (cooperations, projects, internships).

Profile

  • Completed university degree (Master level) in Computer Science or a related field (e.g., Media Informatics, Multimedia Technology, Applied Informatics, Business Informatics).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in a web‑development role in an agile, non‑academic environment, full‑time equivalent since obtaining the degree.
  • Practical experience in several of the following areas:
    • Modern frontend technologies (Vue, React, JavaScript, TypeScript)
    • Mobile development (Native, React Native, Flutter, etc.)
    • API services (REST, GraphQL)
    • Modern CSS, CSS architectures, design systems, Storybook
    • Server‑Side Rendering (SSR) (e.g., nuxt.js, next.js, sveltekit)
    • Frontend unit testing, end‑to‑end testing
    • Development of accessible web and mobile applications
    • Tooling (Git, GitLab, Docker, bundling, package management, etc.)
  • Prior teaching experience is a plus.
  • High communicative and social competence.
  • Excellent German and English language skills.

Offer

  • Workload: 20 weekly hours (teaching load 6 weekly hours)
  • Salary: Starting from EUR 29,169 gross annual (based on 20 h/week, adjusted for qualification and experience)
  • Location: Campus Urstein
  • Start date: July 2026
  • Contract: Initially 2 years, with option to extend, contingent on satisfactory performance in teaching, research, and collaborations.
