We are a mentorship marketplace connecting consumer brand founders with 500+ top operators, founders, and executives in DTC and retail. Our mentors have built some of the fastest-growing brands in the industry, and our mentees are building the next wave.
Over the past five years, we’ve grown to millions in revenue purely through organic word-of-mouth and community — no paid marketing, no dedicated growth team.
The Role:
- You will own the full customer lifecycle — from signup to repeat purchase and advocacy.
- You’ll also act as the connective tissue of our community, helping mentors and mentees stay engaged while surfacing and amplifying their stories.
- This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role:
- No team management
- No delegating strategy
- You are building, testing, and shipping
Key Responsibilities:
Lifecycle & Activation (Primary Focus)
- Own the full journey: signup first session repeat customer
- Build, test, and optimize email sequences across the funnel
- Run weekly A/B tests
- Identify drop-off points and fix them
- Drive improvements in:
- Activation rate
- Time-to-value
- Retention
- LTV
This is not just email marketing — you’re building relationships that increase marketplace stickiness.
Community & Content
- Engage mentors and mentees to surface high-value stories
- Curate and write the weekly newsletter
- Keep the community active and connected across channels
Analytics & Experimentation
- Build and maintain a growth dashboard
- Run weekly reporting directly to the CEO
- Surface actionable insights that drive decisions
- Identify funnel gaps and design experiments to close them
Revenue Accountability
- Own metrics that directly impact revenue
- Work toward clear targets such as:
- Activation rate
- Session volume
- Retention
- GMV growth
Lifecycle is the initial focus, with the opportunity to expand into acquisition over time.
What Success Looks Like
First 90 Days
- Audit all customer touchpoints
- Rebuild core email sequences
- Launch a live growth dashboard
- Improve activation rate
First 6 Months
- Establish a repeatable experimentation cadence
- Improve retention trends
- Grow an engaged newsletter audience
- Identify and execute on 2–3 highest-leverage growth levers
- Begin focusing on top-of-funnel opportunities
First Year
- Double revenue
- Develop a clear roadmap for future investments:
- Hiring
- New channels
- Product expansion
Who You Are
- 3–5+ years in growth, lifecycle, or retention marketing at a startup or marketplace
- Hands-on builder — you execute, not delegate
- Technically competent with analytics tools and dashboarding
- Experience in e-commerce, education/info products, or community-driven businesses is a plus
- Operator mindset — you move fast, handle ambiguity, and deliver results
