Liferay developer - Java

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in computer science (or equivalent major).
• 6 to 10 years of experience in Java, Liferay, REST APIs, Microservices, OSGi, Spring Portlet MVC.
• Academic knowledge on Object Oriented Programming-.
• Academic knowledge on Software Engineering methodologies, Process knowledge knowledge on SDLC, Agile, Scrum
• Analytical Skills- Ability to write pseudo code for common problems.
• Experience in writing code in Java version 8 or above: OOPS and basic understanding of Java, Functional Interface, Lambdas, Stream APIs, Collections, Simple exception handling, String, Threads
• Experience in developing REST APIs using: Spring Boot, Spring Web Flux, Spring Security
• Experience using Source Code Management systems. Bitbucket (Stash/Git) and VSTS experience preferred.
• Experience in working with ORM tools like: Hibernate, Spring JPA, Spring JDBC Template
• Solid understanding of AGILE software development methodologies.
• Basic knowledge of Web Services, JSON, XML, SOAP, and REST
• Experience in developing portlets using: Liferay Portal Server version 7.4, Spring MVC Portlet, JSR 286 (Portlet Specification 2.0)
• Database- RDBMS concepts, writing simple SQL, understanding of Stored-Proc, User Defined functions, Joins etc.
• Experience in migrating portlets from lower version to higher version
• Experience in developing Themes
• Experience in overriding Liferay features using: Fragment Host, Custom Bag, Events, Lifecycle Actions etc.
• Experience in UI technologies like: JavaScript, JQuery,TypeScript, Angular JS, HTML, CSS, Java Server Pages (JSP)
• Experience in Liferay Administration like: Creating Public and Private Pages, Creating a site, Scheduling jobs, Integrating with Third party tools like ForgeRock, Content Management and creation, Creating Users, Groups, Organizations, Assigning roles to users
• Experience with Code Quality Tools like SonarQube, HCL App Scan
• Experience in OSGi Framework
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, escalate, and communicate issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance with attention to detail and follow-up.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop new and maintain existing portlets.
• Gather specifications and requirements for new applications and features or changes to existing code.
• Work with business analysts on design of technical solutions.
• Assist in the design, development and support of applications using current and new development technologies.
