Linux Engineer

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) is seeking a skilled Linux Engineer to join our team in support of our government clients. The Linux Engineer will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of Linux-based systems to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operation in compliance with DoD standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Linux servers and workstations, ensuring high availability and performance
• Apply patches and security configurations according to DoD Information Assurance standards including STIG compliance
• Perform troubleshooting and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to Linux environments
• Collaborate with cyber security teams to implement NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines
• Manage and automate system configurations and deployments using scripting tools such as Bash, Python and Ansible
• Support virtualization environments and distributed file systems
• Document system changes, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities thoroughly

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience administering Linux systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred)
• Experience with security compliance including DISA STIGs and RMF processes
• Familiarity with network services such as Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Ansible experience preferred
• Working knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware)
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (e.g., Security+, CySA+)
• An active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Salary

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $110,000 to $130,000 (annually).
