About the role
About
A Executive lodge in South Africa (Kalahari) is seeking to employ a couple to manage their 5-star establishment. (Work permits will be arranged).
Requirements
- Must be a Lodge Couple (Husband & Wife).
- Ideally someone with experience in Managing a 5 star lodge in Namibia/Boswana or South Africa in die Kalahari Desert.
- Work permist can be arranged.
- Must have experience in working in die Kalahari Dessert and knowledge of vegetation, previous Lodge Management experience in dealing with International guests etc.).
- Experience as a PH would be advantageous
- Previous experience in farm management (general maintenance, cattle) would also be advantageous.
- Salary is negotiable/ market related.
The ideal couple/person needs to have experiencing in managing a lodge, with excellent understanding of lodge operations, finance, and staff management.

- Management of Resources.
- Financial Management.
- Training Development - Providing training to the team to ensure they are up to speed with the desired service standards.
- New concepts and Creative Ideas - Keep abreast with the latest trends of service delivery.
- Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
- Perform Department Management.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Energetic, proactive person with well-developed concept of the importance of providing a world-class guest experience and the ability to provide that experience.
- Aware, evolved, energetic, compassionate, respectable, good communication and a strong leader.
- Driver license.
- Lateral thinking ability
- Initiative.
- Must be able to cope under pressure to meet guests needs.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with staff and guests
- Attention to detail.
- Diligence and self-motivation to meet deadlines.
- Computer and financial skills.
- Excellent organizational management skills.
Previous Work Experience Required
- Experience in the service industry especially in dealing with guests and staff.
- Previous experience in running a five star operation as Lodge Manager or GM.
