Senior Software Engineer (Applied AI)

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a well-funded, high-growth fintech startup building the next generation of infrastructure and intelligent tooling for financial professionals. This company has achieved strong product-market fit and is scaling rapidly, with AI at the core of its platform — not as an experiment, but as a fundamental driver of how the product operates. They are hiring Senior Applied AI Engineers (5–8 years experience) to help build and deploy AI-powered systems used daily by real customers. This is a product-facing role, focused on shipping practical, high-impact systems — not research.

What you’ll work on

You’ll build AI directly into a live production platform, helping automate complex workflows and unlock efficiency at scale.

Examples of systems you may design and ship:

• AI copilots and intelligent assistants embedded into the product
• Autonomous agents that execute multi-step workflows
• Workflow automation systems powered by LLMs and structured data
• Meeting preparation tools (context aggregation, summaries, follow-ups)
• Task routing and operational intelligence systems
• End-to-end AI features integrated into a high-usage platform

What you’ll do

• Build and deploy AI-powered product features used by real customers
• Design and implement agent-based systems that automate complex workflows
• Work across the full product lifecycle (idea → build → production → iteration)
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams
• Engage directly with users and iterate based on real feedback
• Operate with high ownership in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment

What they’re looking for

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience
• Strong product mindset and ability to operate independently
• Experience shipping AI systems into production (LLMs, agents, RAG, etc.)
• Solid backend fundamentals (APIs, systems design, scalability)
• Full-stack capability (frontend proficiency is a plus)
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments
• Comfortable moving quickly and navigating ambiguity
• Actively using AI tools (e.g., copilots, agents, LLM workflows) in daily work

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $201,000 – $246,000
