About the role

About

We are partnering with a leading European buy-and-build platform specialising in IT managed services and cloud businesses. Backed by a reputable family office and part of a broader digital services group, the company has a strong track record of acquiring and scaling founder-led businesses, establishing a leading position in its home market.

Following a successful entry into Germany, the business is now accelerating its European expansion with a strong focus on the DACH region. A local team is being built to drive an ambitious acquisition strategy, targeting multiple deals per year and further strengthening its market presence. This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and help shape the growth of a high-performing, entrepreneurial platform.

Joining the German M&A team at this formative stage offers exposure to a high volume of transactions in a private equity-style environment. You will work closely with an international deal team, gain end-to-end deal responsibility, and engage directly with founders, management teams, and senior leadership across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the execution of M&A transactions across the full lifecycle, from origination through to completion
  • Assessing acquisition targets, including analysing financial performance, commercial positioning, and value creation opportunities
  • Building and maintaining financial models, including valuation analyses and investment cases
  • Preparing transaction materials such as investment memoranda, presentations, and due diligence documentation
  • Coordinating due diligence processes with internal stakeholders and external advisors
  • Engaging directly with founders and management teams to assess business models and strategic fit
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with advisors, intermediaries, and industry experts to support deal sourcing activity
  • Contributing to the development and management of a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities
  • Supporting transaction negotiations and execution processes
  • Contributing to team development, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within a fast-growing DACH M&A function

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, with strong academic performance
  • Experience in M&A, investment banking, transaction services (Big 4), private equity, or corporate finance
  • Experience supporting or executing end-to-end transactions is strongly preferred
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, including building models from scratch
  • Solid accounting knowledge, including experience analysing financial statements under German GAAP
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and commercial judgement
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
  • Native German and fluent English required
  • Willingness to travel across the DACH region and occasionally internationally
