Mainframe Developer (Salesforce Integration)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframes Developer with deep expertise a strong understanding of Salesforce platforms to lead the development, modernization, and integration of core banking systems.

This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of high-volume transaction processing systems while driving innovation through seamless integration with modern platforms such as Salesforce and cloud-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of core banking applications on mainframe systems.
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of systems supporting payments, accounts, and transaction processing.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable, and compliant technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight to engineering teams across mainframe and Salesforce domains.
• Oversee batch processing workflows (JCL) and ensure timely execution of critical financial processes.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues (e.g., abends, data inconsistencies) within SLA timelines.
• Work extensively with IMS and DB2 databases in high-volume transactional environments.
• Manage and configure PSB/PCB structures within IMS environments.
• Integrate mainframe systems with distributed platforms using MQ, APIs, and middleware.
• Design and implement integrations between mainframe systems and Salesforce platforms, enabling real-time and batch data exchange.

Technical Skills & Requirements

Mainframe Technologies

• Extensive experience in enterprise mainframe environments within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of z/OS services, utilities, and performance tuning.

Programming Languages

• Advanced proficiency in:
  • COBOL
  • IMS DB
  • DB2

Salesforce Expertise

• Strong experience with the Salesforce Platform, including:
  • Apex development and triggers
  • Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura components
  • Salesforce APIs (REST/SOAP) for integration
  • Data modeling, workflows, and automation (Flow, Process Builder)
• Experience integrating Salesforce with legacy systems (especially mainframe environments)
• Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud / Datacloud and data synchronization strategies
• Understanding of Salesforce security model, governance, and best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5-8 years of experience in mainframe development, preferably in banking or financial services

Core Competencies

• Strong IMS database design and management expertise
• Hands-On Experience with: IMS DB, DB2, IBM Explorer, JCL and Datacloud
• Expert-level COBOL development for transactional systems
• Advanced JCL scripting and batch scheduling
• Ability to manage datasets/files in secure mainframe environments
• Deep understanding of z/OS services and utilities
• Experience with MQ (message queuing) and API-based integrations
• Ability to bridge legacy systems with modern platforms (Salesforce, cloud)
