Job Summary

  • Responsible to be "shift engineer" on all operating boilers and installed hospital equipment, to stand any of the 3‑shifts (7am‑3pm, 3‑11pm, 11pm‑7am; 7 days/week), and to respond to in‑house problems in support of the hospital and patients.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of all hospital equipment (except Bio‑medical) in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Will also be responsible for Grounds Maintenance and Security as directed.
  • Responsible for supervision and training of Level I, Base, and Maintenance Assistant personnel.
  • May be required to work outside in inclement weather (i.e., extreme heat and cold).

Qualifications

  • Vocational education in a maintenance-related field or 3 years maintenance related experience.
  • Must possess a minimum of State of Minnesota "Special Boiler Operating License".
  • Must possess a minimum of a State of Minnesota "2B" Boiler Operating license or obtain within 12 months.
  • Must possess appropriate, valid driver's license and have the ability to be covered by the GICH Insurance policy.
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude, ability and knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
  • Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
