Maintenance Specialist

About

Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Specialist to join their mining company based in the Northern Cape. You will be responsible for improving maintenance performance and equipment reliability through data-driven analysis, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyse maintenance performance and improve reactive, planned and predictive maintenance practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCA/RCFA) and implement corrective actions.
• Improve equipment reliability through optimisation of MTBF and MTTR.
• Enhance maintenance planning, scheduling and standardised work procedures.
• Analyse maintenance data and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Reduce maintenance costs through improved spares usage and efficiency initiatives.
• Support compliance with safety, legal and maintenance standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance teams.
• Support training, coaching and development of maintenance personnel.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and suppliers to implement improvements.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Specialist within an opencast/plant mining environment
• Experience using CMMS (SAGE, SAP or similar)
• Project Management Certificate
• Engineering Supervisor Certificate
• Valid Trade Test Certificate will be advantageous
• Valid Driver's License
