Job Summary

As the Managed Services Engineer for Microsoft 365 & Identity Solutions, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, supporting, and optimizing Microsoft 365 and identity-based solutions within SHI-managed customer environments. This role requires a partnership with both internal teams and customers to deliver secure and efficient collaboration, messaging, and identity platforms.

We are looking for a candidate who possesses strong Microsoft 365 and identity skills, a customer-centric mindset, and a passion for continual learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and support Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD), and directory services.
  • Manage identity platforms including Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory.
  • Enhance Microsoft 365 collaboration tools such as Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Implement and refine Conditional Access policies within Entra ID (Azure AD) to ensure security compliance.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust Conditional Access rules to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Work with security teams to align Conditional Access policies with organizational standards.
  • Establish Mobile Device Management (MDM) policies for secure and compliant access.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for complex support issues related to Microsoft 365 and Office 365 services.
  • Collaborate with customers to improve Microsoft 365 and MDM environments using best practices.
  • Monitor and resolve performance, security, and availability issues.
  • Refine environments through standardization, automation, and proven methods.
  • Lead and participate in managed services and IT projects.
  • Engage with customers through meetings, issue resolution, and project deliverables.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Accurately track time and document work in SHI systems.
  • Participate in audits and service improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and service desk team members.
  • Be part of an on-call rotation and offer after-hours support when necessary.

  • Experience in customer-facing roles.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git or Azure DevOps.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% annually.
  • Availability for an on-call schedule and occasional weekend or holiday work.
  • Maintain utilization targets as set by leadership.
  • Pass a CJIS background check upon hiring and annually thereafter.

Certifications

  • Microsoft 365 Associate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
  • ITIL v3+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IT Glue, Autotask, Datto RMM, or similar tools.
  • Familiar with security platforms like CrowdStrike, Defender, or SentinelOne.
  • Background in SaaS data protection and backup solutions such as Druva or SkyKick.
  • Experience in regulated environments.

The estimated annual compensation for this role is $110,000 - $140,000, which includes base salary and bonus opportunities. Salaries may vary based on experience and location. Benefits include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
